But honestly the fact that the only people to vote against it were 31 white Republican dudes make me so upset I want to cry.
The Republican women voted for it. All of them.
It’s not projected to pass the House. They have too many white dudes up in there apparently.
We’re really fighting over this shit.
We’re really fighting about whether or not the government should help stop violence against women.
Really.
Really.

DAVID KARP, GET IT THE FUCK TOGETHER.
“It is difficult to believe that such a widespread violence (that girls twelve years old in the United States now stand a twenty to thirty percent chance of being violently sexually assaulted in their lifetimes) is the responsibility of a small lunatic fringe of psychopathic men. That sexual violence is so pervasive supports the view that the locus of violence against women rests squarely in the middle of what our culture defines as “normal” interactions between men and women. The numbers reiterate a reality that American women have lived with for years: sexual violence against women is part of the every-day fabric of American life.”
If abortion is a right, then men should have zero obligation to pay child support. If women can abandon their child, so can men.
Translation: “I want to dismantle the state, but I support forcing women to pump out kids because fuck you I’m still an authoritarian piece of shit that actually loves the state as long as it’s limited to a uterus”.
Fuck OP - my father didn’t pay child support, and that’s completely different from a woman having an abortion.
“The first act of violence that patriarchy demands of males is not violence toward women. Instead patriarchy demands of all males that they engage in acts of psychic self-mutilation, that they kill off the emotional parts of themselves. If an individual is not successful in emotionally crippling himself, he can count on patriarchal men to enact rituals of power that will assault his self-esteem.”

Read some posts earlier claiming that “primitivism” is inherently patriarchal. Thought I’d respond to that here briefly.
Firstly, as I’ve said before, I disagree with the use of the words “primitive” or “primitivism” in this way, as it is an offensive, degrading, and perhaps most importantly incomplete way of viewing thousands of years of cultures.
The person who was writing the post said that a reason “primitivism” is inherently patriarchal is that it would force women to not use modern birth control or safe abortion procedures. I find this argument irrelevant, being that this drawdown on dependence on industrial infrastructure/civilized practices is where we are all headed in the long run; the unsustainable practices that allow the procedures and drugs of which they were speaking will eventually be stopped, either by our choice or by necessity. And for thousands of years women used non-industrially-produced birth control methods and formulas. Like many other skills, these abilities and knowledge will need to be relearned.
The larger point is also incorrect. It is an enormously historically, anthropologically, and sociologically flawed argument to claim that non-civilized or non-industrial or indigenous cultures are more patriarchal. They are in fact more egalitarian in basically every way. I don’t know how it could be “inherently patriarchal” to desire and work for a shift towards societies and cultures that are far more egalitarian, not to mention the added benefits of actually having a living earth on which to base these cultures we’re talking about.

Lolol, looking at the sexism tag is hilarious because the entire thing is a bunch of feminists exaggerating over little things that don’t matter and repeating the words “ignorance” and “misogyny” over and over again acting like people care about what they have to say.
The reason no one takes you seriously is because the majority of you are batshit crazy paranoids who see sexism everywhere you turn and in everything you see or are just blatant sexists in your own right.
But then again, I’m a white straight male, so I automatically have it better then everyone else and am delusional and blind to the internalized misogynistic culture we are all indoctrinated by.
Woops.
Pretty much, yeah.
Pretty accurate self-diagnosis.
